Rico Elmore (Republican Party) is running for election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent District 16. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. He advanced from the Republican primary on May 17, 2022.
Rico is running against Incumbent Robert Matzie (D) in the general election for Pennsylvania House of Representatives District 16 on November 8, 2022.
Rico is a native to district 16, he was born and raised there. Rico served as an advocate for criminal justice reform for Beaver County after graduating from Penn State with a Criminal Justice degree. Rico is also an Air Force Veteran serving in the Air National Guard. Between Rico’s experience as a veteran and serving the community through the Clean Slate program, he has decided to answer the call to be the voice of the people of district 16 for Pennsylvania. District 16 needs to lead the way on helping veterans and disadvantaged citizens to have the same opportunities to pursue happiness as everyone else. Rico wants to expand the Clean Slate program that helps non-violent offenders receive job opportunities. Rico also wants to ensure veterans have the resources they need to transition into civilian life or balance their military and civilian lives.
As a veteran, Rico also holds freedom very close to his heart, Rico believes in the constitution and are God-given rights to freedom and happiness. Rico strongly supports our Bill of Rights, especially our right to bear arms.
When asked, list three key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? He answered: We need to reform the Criminal Justice system, non-violent offenders cannot overcome some of the legal obstacles to return to being a contributing member of society. We need to fight to maintain our constitutional rights, our rights under the second amendment continue to be attacked.
We need to ensure our rights do not get infringed upon.
We need to reconnect as people, we have too many issues with violence, opioids, and people being disenfranchised that we can resolve with fundamental support from each other.
Rico will be successful in office due to his enduring work ethic which has driven him to initiate the Clean Slate program and now pushes him towards becoming a State Legislator. Rico’s people skills will assist his success, the Air Force has shown Rico that working diverse groups and teamwork enhances the ability to complete the mission. As an officeholder, Rico’s integrity will be an invaluable resource and will always do what’s best for the community. Overall, Rico’s compassion for people is the one factor that combines his hard work, his ability to work with others, and desire to do good for the community and will enable him to help the people and the communities, as the measurement of Rico’s success will be how much he has helped.
