The Donald Trump Era has exposed the festering decay within our Legislative Branch like no other time in history. The interests of American Citizens have routinely been subverted by radical social agendas, rampant and unsustainable spending, and a blatant disregard for the founding principles on which our great nation was founded. While it would be convenient to point the blame in the direction of one party, or faction of inept leaders, in truth, Congress has long since stopped pretending to serve the people that elected them. What is supposed to be the People’s House, has become infested with a group of career bureaucratic oligarchs who answer only to Special Interests.
In previous eras, Congress was not always constituted by career politicians looking to further their own personal agendas, but by Veterans who served their country in times of conflict and wanted to continue serving the Constitution in times of peace. In an article by Dallas News, it is pointed out that “By historical standards, the number of veterans in Congress remains low — about 18%. According to the Congressional Research Service, 64% of House and Senate seats were held by veterans in 1981, down from 73% a decade earlier.” Access to key funding and organizational support is essential to running a successful campaign, but startup Veteran candidates have lacked these key resources in Recent Times.
“Ready To Lead:”
In 2019, The War Veterans Fund PAC was founded by Congressman Dan Crenshaw, (R,TX) , Congressman Mike Waltz, (R, FL), and Congressman Michael Waltz, (R,WI), to provide the institutional support needed to elect Conservative Veterans running for Congress. The Mission of the PAC is:
“It is time for a new generation of leaders who have been tested in war to lead the Republican Party. War Veterans Fund PAC helps Republican military veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq run for the U.S. House by raising money and building a sense of teamwork in order to better govern. They have fought for their country overseas and are ready to fight for it again… this time in the halls of the U.S. Congress.”
In an article by Roll Call, Congressman Crenshaw, a former Navy Seal, was cited as saying Veterans are “natural leaders, problem solvers, and patriots.” And his aim is to make them as prepared as possible to win.
Gallagher cited the success that Democrats had in the 2018 midterms in recruiting and securing victories for Dem Veterans as the impetus for the founding of The Veterans for War Fund. “We’ve seen the Democrats do a good job of recruiting young veterans to run in the midterms, to great political effect. We would be dumb not to do the same.” There are currently 6 candidates endorsed by the PAC for the 2020 elections, who can be viewed here.
In 2019, The War Veteran Fund Coordinator, Edward Crawford said: “It is time for a new generation of leaders who have been tested in service to our country to lead the Republican Party,” Crawford said, according to the Washington Free Beacon. “Now more than ever we need qualified, respected leaders in Washington, D.C. to help lead our nation.”
The successful track records of the Congressman who have founded this PAC are testaments to the virtues embodied by our Nation’s Veterans. They represent a new generation of Conservative leaders driven by ethics, honor, integrity, and fidelity to the people of the United States and their God given rights.

The political and economic outlook for post-pandemic America isn’t necessarily bleak, but it’s going to require strong and experienced leaders to help us navigate the storm. This opens the door for veterans to enter into office in higher numbers.
